Army

Randy Lynn Sheets was born September 11, 1957, in Clarion, Iowa, the son of John L. and Lois J. (Anderson) Sheets. He grew up in Woolstock and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1976.

Randy served in the United States Army from 1976 until 1980, serving two years in Germany.

In August of 1977, Randy married Rowena Moore. They later divorced.

After serving in the military, Randy worked construction for about a year then he went to work for Electrolux in 1981 until it's closing in 2011.

Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing video games and watching movies.

Randy passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, after a short illness, at the age of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Ethel Sheets and Jess and Anna Anderson and brother-in-law, Doug Pinkele.

Survivors include his parents John and Lois Sheets of Eagle Grove; daughter Serena (David) Johnson of Trussville, AL; sister Jeanine Pinkele of Eagle Grove; brother Gene Sheets of Webster City; granddaughter Sarah Bell Johnson; nieces Jeana Newgard of Terril, Angel Clark of Roscoe, IL and Lacey Pinkele of Arnolds Park and nephew Jules Pinkele of Webster City.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Dr. Fran Pettigrew officiating, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Randy's wishes were to be cremated and there will be a private family burial at a later date.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
