Norene Joan Elberg, the daughter of Edward F. and Pearl (Griffith) Graves, was born on November 23, 1928, in Goldfield, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1946.
On October 29, 1950, Mike was united in marriage with Charles H. Elberg, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove.
Mike was a member of the United Church of Christ.
She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, puzzles and playing cards and other games.
Mike passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Daryl and Kirby and two sisters, Margaret and Patricia.
Survivors include her daughter, Frannie Hansen and husband Randy of Eagle Grove; son, Chuck Elberg Jr. and wife Maria of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren: Nathan Hansen and wife Melia, Jordan Hansen and Kristyn (Elberg) Klemp and husband Zach; two great-grandsons, Logan and Tyler Hansen; sister, Mary (Graves) Thompson of Eagle Grove and sister-in-law, Jo Elberg of Eagle Grove and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm, at the United Church of Christ in Eagle Grove with Pastor James Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
