Eagle Grove - Kurt D. Olson

Kurt Duane Olson, the son of Kenneth D. and H. Joanne (Van Sickle) Olson, was born October 1, 1959, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School attended classes at ICCC in Ft. Dodge and then received a business degree from DMACC in Ankeny.

Kurt married Foresta Rasmussen in 1982 and they had two children, Eric and Alexis.

Kurt worked for AGP in Eagle Grove then later moved to Casa Grand, AZ where he began working for the Siemens Company as a service technician. He transferred to Minnesota with the Siemens and became a sales representative, a position he held until his passing.

In November, 2009, Kurt married Sue Lian of Coon Rapids, MN.

Playing golf and traveling to Mexico were two of their great joys. Kurt was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his time with his family and always saw nothing but Blue Skies.

Kurt passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Kindred Hospital in Peoria, AZ, at the age of 51 years. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Survivors include his wife Susan Olson of Coon Rapids, MN; mother Joanne Olson of Eagle Grove; son Eric of Buffalo, MN; daughter Alexis of Albert Lea, MN; sister Karen Root and husband Clark of Ft. Dodge; step daughters Robynne & Rachelle; step granddaughters Dakota, Dreah, and Ce Ce and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011,at 2:00 p.m. at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Richard Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
