Cynthia Ann (Douglass) Wepel was born August 12, 1958, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Richard F. and Sandra A. (Moriarty) Douglass. She was raised and educated in Rockwell City and Eagle Grove.

On September 20, 1995, Cindy married Rodney J. Wepel in Webster City. The couple made their home west of Eagle Grove until moving to Renwick in 2000.

Cindy loved to craft – creating anything she could imagine. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, wind chimes and hummingbirds.

Cindy died suddenly on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the age of 53 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bernard and Maxine Moriarty and Rollyn Douglass and brothers, Richard F. Douglass, Jr. and Noel Douglass.

Survivors include her husband, Rod Wepel of Renwick; mother, Sandra Brown and husband Bill of Eagle Grove; father, Richard F. Douglass of Kanawha; grandmother, Helen Douglass of Walker, MN; sons, Eric Douglass and wife Tracy of Goldfield, Nathan Smith and wife Missy of Eagle Grove, Adam Smith of Renwick and Nick Smith and wife Randi of Fort Dodge and her grandson, Tremain; brothers, Donald Douglass of Eagle Grove, and Rich Douglass of Webster City; sister, Cathe Hawke of Phoenix, AZ; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Gloria Wepel of Eagle Grove and brother-in-law, Robert Wepel and wife Teresa of Eagle Grove.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
