Jacob Ole Hanson, the son of Andy and Cindy (Engman) Hanson, was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on February 26, 1984. He was raised in Goldfield and educated in the Clarion-Goldfield Schools. Jacob later earned his diploma by taking on-line courses.

Jacob worked for Sparboe Farms, Van Tech and McDonald's in Webster City.

Jacob attended the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield as a child.

Jacob's true passion was cars; whether it be fixing them, buying them or simply just admiring them! He also enjoyed classic movies and video games.

Jacob died on Friday, October 21, 2011, at the age of 27 years, due to injuries sustained in automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors include his parents, Andy and Cindy Hanson of Goldfield; three brothers: Dan Hanson and wife Heather of Des Moines, Gabe Hanson of Ames and Nathan Hanson of Ames; niece Katelyn Hanson of Des Moines and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Pastor Cathy Sonnickson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.
