Eagle Grove -Ernest F. Brown -

Ernest Francis Brown was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on November 21, 1940, to Charles and Kathryn (Wilcox) Brown. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth.
On October 2, 1962, Ernest was united in marriage with Barbara Jean William. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where they raised six children: Jean, Patricia, Charles, James, William and Thomas.
Ernest was employed in the trucking industry for many years, working 26 years for Umthun Trucking and other companies; M&M, Van Diest and Hart Carters.
Ernest enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, watching John Wayne Westerns and cheering on the Oakland Raiders and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Ernest passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, at the age of 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Brown and Kathryn (Brown) Wyatt.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; children: Jean Thielen and husband Tom, Patricia Davis and husband Brian, Chuck Brown, Jim Brown, Bill Brown and Tom Brown and wife Sarah; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Wilbur Brown and wife Sandy, Cecil Wyatt, Bruce Wyatt and Greg Wyatt; and two sisters, Vicky Pamperin and husband Al and Betty Wyatt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2011, 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Fran Pettigrew officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 pm until service time. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
Memorial donations may be left to the discretion of the family.
